Pocket Engine Studio, LLC ("we," "our," or "us") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy details how we collect, use, and protect your information within the SipWorld application. Because we do not release the app in the EU, UK, Switzerland, Brazil, or Thailand, international frameworks such as GDPR, UK GDPR, Swiss FADP, LGPD, or PDPA do not apply.

1. Information We Collect
  • Anonymous Identifiers: When you first launch SipWorld, we silently create an anonymous account identified by a random User ID. No personal information is collected at this stage.
  • Location Data: We collect location data (with your explicit user consent) strictly to power the local weather feature.
  • Notification Preferences: We request permission to send push notifications, which covers checkpoint reminders, weather alerts, and squad nudges.
2. Apple HealthKit & Android Health Connect
  • If you grant permission, SipWorld reads and writes water intake data to Apple HealthKit or Android Health Connect.
  • This data is stored on-device only, is never transmitted to our servers, and is never shared with third parties or used for advertising.
  • You can revoke access at any time in your device's Health settings.
3. Squad Data & Public Visibility

If you join a Squad, specific data points are shared to facilitate group motivation.

  • What they see: Squad members see your display name, your world theme, your sip streak count, your daily progress ring, and a total squad contribution.
  • What they NEVER see: They never see your XP, your volume streak, your daily goal, or your photos.
  • What we DO NOT collect: We do not collect custom avatars, freeform messages, or user-uploaded photos.
4. Third-Party Processors

We utilize industry-standard third-party services to operate the App:

  • Firebase/Firestore (Google): Used for database infrastructure, cloud storage, and secure user authentication.
  • Firebase Cloud Messaging (Google): Used for push notification delivery, including squad nudges. When you send a nudge, your display name and the notification payload transit through Google's FCM servers.
  • RevenueCat: Used to securely process and manage subscriptions and in-app purchases.
5. Advertising & Analytics

We use AdMob to serve advertisements within SipWorld.

  • iOS App Tracking Transparency (ATT): On iOS, if you decline ATT, AdMob serves non-personalized ads.
  • Android Controls: On Android, you can limit ad personalization via your device settings.
  • Analytics Restriction: No ad data is used for our own internal analytics.
6. Data Retention & Deletion
  • Cloud data is retained while your account is active.
  • On account deletion, all cloud data is removed immediately.
  • Anonymous accounts that are never upgraded remain in our auth system until purged by our scheduled cleanup.
7. California Privacy Rights (CCPA)

For residents of California, you have the right to request access to the specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you, request the deletion of your data, and opt-out of the "sale" of personal information. Because we use AdMob, certain advertising identifiers may be shared to serve ads. You may opt out of personalized tracking via your device settings (ATT on iOS or Ad Personalization on Android).
